ADHD & Executive Function Coaching in Mankato, MN

ADHD and executive function coaching for Mankato students, delivered by telehealth so nobody drives 90 minutes after practice.

80 miles west of Rochester~90 minutes drive

Ninety Minutes East on Highway 14

Mankato sits at an awkward distance for specialty care: far enough from the Twin Cities that a metro appointment eats a full day, and far enough from Rochester that families have often simply gone without a board-certified pediatric neuropsychological evaluation. Highway 14 fixes most of that — it is one road, about ninety minutes, straight east through Waseca and Owatonna.

Families come to us from both sides of the river, 56001 and 56003, plus Eagle Lake, North Mankato, and the smaller St. Clair and Nicollet districts. Testing for children and teens is done in NW Rochester at 3777 40th Avenue NW, with free parking at the door and everything scheduled in one day whenever possible so the trip is made once.

Coaching and adult psychotherapy are almost always telehealth for Mankato clients, which means the drive only ever applies to the evaluation itself.

What Care Looks Like for Mankato Area Families

Coaching for Mankato students runs by secure video, which matters at this distance: no family should drive to Rochester and back for a 50-minute session after a school day. Sessions work on the ordinary machinery of school around the ISD 77 calendar — writing the assignment down, starting the hard thing first, keeping a backpack that does not eat homework. None of it requires medication.

  • Non-medication, evidence-based coaching for ages 6–21
  • Practical attention, organization, time-management, and study skills
  • Personalized routines that transfer between school and home
  • Telehealth available — no extra drive after a long school day

Testing is consolidated into a single day, and you receive an itemized superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Questions We Hear From Mankato Families

Does coaching require driving to Rochester?
No. Mankato students meet by secure telehealth, most often in weekday late-afternoon or evening slots that fit around the ISD 77 schedule and activities.
What does coaching cost?
Mind Matters is a private-pay practice; current coaching rates and session lengths are listed on the Get Started page. A 3% processing fee applies to credit card payments.
Is coaching an alternative to medication?
Coaching is a non-medication approach. It works on its own or alongside whatever your prescriber recommends — that decision stays between you and your physician.
